Props to a great friend

I received an email from Stuart Crawford, a great friend and mentor of mine in Calgary, Canada. Economy

So how is the economy in your area? I think it is interesting that it seems to be interesting that things were going ok until the media made a HUGE deal about it. I am reading a book currently that states the more you think about something the more it comes true. I am trying to keep a positive and only talking about how the market may be slow but it certainly isn't the end of the world as some would want you to believe. How is it in your world? Do you think it is as bad as they say? And even if it is, what are we fixing by discussing how bad it is day after day?

Time Management

OK so it has been a while. What can I say. It seems like the priority system works, just that my blog doesn't sit as a top priority. I have missed it, but have been very busy. This weekend was my daughter's second birthday. It was great. We had family at our house and got to spend time with them while my daughter was the center of attention for a while (her 10 month old brother didn't do bad either). The last couple of weeks I have made sure to spend a lot of time with my kids (even more than I usually do) and their response has been amazing. It is like anything in life - the more you focus on them the better the relationship will be. Right now I am starting to work on my goals for 2009 and one of them is to focus more attention on my A clients. I want them to know how important they are to me and HTS. It seems like we end of focusing on the problem clients and forgetting about the good one. This next year I am going to work diligently on not letting that happen.

I'm Back

Well it has been a long time since I blogged because it has been a zoo. While it has been busy between the location and sales. While sales are busy it seems the economy is making people take a little longer to make decisions. I try not to dwell on the economy because it seems that if you think something long enough it will come true. I know things will slow down but I don't think it is going to be as bad as people are saying. I do know it is well worth people's time to be prepared for bad times, but not dwell on it.

Had a great weekend last weekend. Flew with my two youngest and my wife to see my oldest son in Albuqurque. Now the main reason was to see him, but a second reason was to see him play football. The problem is he hurt himself and didn't play. Oh well at least I had three great days with him. The older I get the more important time with my wife and kids becomes. There is nothing better than getting on the floor and just playing with them. It helps clear my head and the kids enjoy it a lot. Although it is getting harder to get up off the floor when I am done...
